Thomas E. Meyer

Thomas E. Meyer’s areas of expertise and main practice areas are property and inheritance law, estate planning, advising family offices and real estate law, including assistance with real estate development projects. He also specialises in corporate and commercial law, with a particular focus on start-ups and the planning and processing of commercial register transactions. As Civil Law Notary, he provides the full range of notarial services in all his areas of expertise. He also volunteers for non-profit institutions such as foundations or as-sociations and advises them on organisational and legal issues.
Thomas E. Meyer completed his law studies at the University of Basel (MLaw) in 2016. From 2016 to 2018, he completed traineeships at a first-instance civil court in the Canton of Basel-Landschaft, in the legal department of a multinational pharmaceutical company and at burckhardt AG.
In 2019, he was admitted to the bar and returned to burckhardt. Three years later, he obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) specialising in International Business Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He was admitted as a Civil Law Notary in Basel in 2025.
