David Liatowitsch represents clients in litigation proceedings and in international arbitration proceedings (ICC, Swiss Rules, ad hoc) in commercial, contract and corporate law disputes as well as in debt enforcement and bankruptcy matters, including the freezing of assets and the enforcement of awards. His specialization is the resolution of business disputes, including those regarding turnkey/engineering contracts, M&A transactions, joint ventures, the transportation of goods and financial services. He also advises companies on the drafting of contracts.
In addition, David advises institutional collectors, museums and galleries in art law matters and matters related to charitable foundation law and appears as a speaker on related topics.
Before joining burckhardt Ltd David worked with a commercial law firm for six years and as an In-house counsel with a Big Four accounting firm for one year.
He is a co-founder of the NYU International Arbitration Association and a member of PAIAM and DGTR.
David studied law at the University of Zurich with an exchange at the University Luiss Guido Carli, Rome (lic. iur. 2006). After interning with the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris (2007) he was admitted to the Zurich bar (2009). One year later he obtained an LL.M. from New York University and in 2014 a CAS in Law & Management from University of St. Gallen.
